You’ve seen message boards in elevator lobbies, on store counters, and at restaurants. Perhaps you’ve thought about having one of your own. Now you can, with this cute little 10-inch felt faced message board.I took two photos after I removed the contents from the plastic wrappings. The face of the board is covered in black felt. The back has a hanging strip on it so you can mount it on a wall. Since the frame is square, it can also be leaned against a wall or can sit on a shelf. I suggest keeping it out of the reach of curious kids and cats, though.I took a stab at a Walt Disney quote, which you can see in the third photo. Next time, I’ll start the message on the top line, so I can insert a line between the finish of the quotation and the attribution. That’s my fault, not any design flaw concerning the board.The quantity of included letters is fairly good. I could have used another “R” and “A,” but made do by cutting a “B” and using an upside-down “V”, as you can see in the picture. If you look closely at the message boards you see in everyday life, you’ll see similar compromises, since it seems there are never enough letters. A possible solution? Simply buy two boards so you’ll always have plenty of letters to go around.I used a pair of small, very sharp diagonal cutters to remove the letters from the plastic “tree” so as not to damage any characters by twisting or pulling. A pair of good scissors would also have worked, I’m sure.If you’re a teacher, this message board would also be a great way to recognize your “Student of the Week” by posting their name on the message board for all to see. A shopkeeper could use it to inform customers of store policies, such as “No checks accepted,” “Closed Sundays,” etc. Or think up your own sayings by channeling your inner muse and put your thoughts on display.
